Nov 11,  · The first thing I noticed was the order of the strings: the lower string comes first, whereas on every other string I ever saw it's the other way around. Does anyone know if there's a special reason for it? It's not a problem, however, the only problem with this guitar is the narrow neck. I think for a string it's just a tad too narrow.

The purpose of this project is to introduce Bryan Johanson's composition for two guitars, 13 Ways of Looking at 12 Strings, and present an authoritative recording appropriate for publishing. This fifty-minute piece represents a fascinating suite in thirteen movements. The author of this project performed both guitar parts, recorded them.

Accurate, note-for-note transcriptions of 17 of the finest improvised jazz bass performances ever recorded - from a veritable "who's who" of jazz upright bassists. One of your favorite players is bound to be in this collection; everyone from Ray Brown to Reggie Workman -- and most every prolific bassist in between -- has a cut in this cleanly.

Oct 01,  · Most also have a token 'introduction' about the history of the 12 string and a few notes about how to tune the pairs of strings. Beyond that, the 12 string tag is just a con to suck you in. That's pretty close to how I categorise this book. There IS a sometimes tenous link between the chosen transcriptions and the 12 string guitar, but if you /5(30).

May 22,  · The Byrds, led by Roger McGuinn and his Rickenbacker string, had the most songs on the list with three, followed by Led Zeppelin and The Beatles with two each. Here are the "Top 30 String Guitar Songs of All-Time," according to Guitar World: Eagles – “Hotel California” The Byrds – “Eight Miles High”.
